Campaigns, Motions and Merchandise

Many of our members work in organisations with Recognition Agreements between Unite the Union and their Management. At each of these the Union is negotiated with yearly to improve their pay and conditions. When these negotiations break down, industrial action is often necessary to fight for the rights, cost of living needs and dignity of workers.

Similarly, at workplaces with such recognition agreements, Management are legally required to consult with the Union around Restructures and Redundancies that affect more than 20 people. Highly organised Unions can achieve great results during these, including enhanced redundancy pay outs, changes to consultative plans, and, in some cases, defeating proposed rationales for redundancies

We know that due to a variety of external and internal circumstances, many workplaces organised in the LE524 branch are going through redundancies and restructures at the moment. We offer a branch specific training on such circumstances – if you would like to find out more then get in touch!

Furthermore, we have many members whose workplaces do not have a recognition agreement with their employers. Our Regional Officers and Accredited Support Companions can work with you to help with individual grievances and disciplinaries. Our Branch Organiser can even support you to gain these recognition agreements.
